Following the acquisition of 50.87% of the shares (for at least €36M) from the previous majority shareholders, Fosun Industrial Holdings Limited (Hong Kong Central) is now the new main shareholder of Wolford. The Hongkong financial investor, which is the investment vehicle of Shanghai based Fosun Group, systematically invests in the global fashion and consumer goods industry, and the management of its growing portfolio in the fashion sector was recently put in the hands of Fosun Fashion Group, which holds stakes in the German Tom Tailor Group and the French luxury brand Lanvin, amongst other holdings

Wolford: Capital Increase of Around EUR 22 Mln Approved, Dr. Junyang Shao is New Chairperson of the Supervisory Board

Today's extraordinary general meeting of Wolford AG resolved to increase the share capital from EUR 36,350,000 to EUR 48,848,227.77 by issuing 1,719,151 new ordinary shares. The issue price (Ausgabebetrag) per new share amounts to EUR 12.80; the total issue price amounts to EUR 22,005,132.80. The new shares have a profit entitlement (Gewinnberechtigung) as of 1 May 2017. The new shares will be issued at a ratio of 20 to 7, i.e. 20 existing shares entitle to subscribe for 7 new shares. The management board was authorized to implement the capital increase by 31 August 2018 and to determine the further details of its implementation.

ATX: AT&S and FACC to Join, Agrana and Zumtobel to be Removed

The ATX index composition of the Vienna Stock Exchange has been reviewed on its quarterly basis. FACC AG will be joining ATX for the first time since it became exchange-listed. AT&S AG will rejoin. Agrana and Zumtobel will be removed. Decisions on additions and removals to the index are based on average daily trading volumes and the free float capitalization of companies.

Mainland Chinese Billionaire Guo Guangchang to Take Over Austrian Asset Wolford AG

Shanghai based Fosun Group through its Hong Kong (Central) vehicle Fosun Industrial Holdings Limited (Fosun) has taken over control of one of Austria's last remaining lingerie assets. According to Wolford, its new strategic core shareholder has agreed to pay at least €36M for a 50.87% majority stake in Wolford AG. Wolford has been struggling with management problems for some time. It also has been loss making for several years. Fosun Industrial Holdings Limited, a subsidiary of Fosun International Limited (British Virgin Islands) is an investment holding company with interests in asset management and entertainment services. Fosun wants full control of the lingerie maker. Upon the closing of the share purchase agreement Fosun intends to launch a takeover offer to the remaining shareholders. Fosun was co-founded in 1992 by Fudan graduate Guo Guangchang who meanwhile became the 34th richest person in China with a net worth of €7 billion.

Bawag Pays €110M for Separation from Austrian Post

Bawag presents its preliminary figures for 2017. The net profit will amount to 466.6 million euros (-1.4 percent). Due to profits, there will be dividend payments to shareholders. The long-term distribution partnership with Austrian Post is to be terminated.

Strabag SE celebrates 10 years on the stock market

Strabag SE, the European-based technology group for construction services, is celebrating 10 years on the Vienna Stock Exchange. On 19 October 2007, the company had placed 28,200,001 no-par shares in free float at a price of EUR 47 per share. Although the subsequent price development was influenced by the crises on the international markets that followed, the shares of Strabag SE managed to outperform the Viennese benchmark index ATX in a 10-year comparison. Last Friday, the shares closed at EUR 36.26.

Changes in the supervisory board of Wiener Börse AG and CEESEG AG have taken place and a new executive committee was elected. Heimo Scheuch, CEO of Wienerberger AG, will serve as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Angelika Sommer-Hemetsberger, member of the Management Board of Oesterreichische Kontrollbank AG, was elected Vice-Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board.

VSE: US Interest Rate Decision Likely to Increase Appeal of Austrian Stocks

The Vienna Stock Exchange can look back at a year of solid developments on the stock market in 2015. The uptrend in equity trading volumes has now been sustained for more than two years: trading volumes were up by 24.3%; the ATX gained 11.20%, and innovations in bond trading were the highlights of the year. Market capitalization on the Vienna Stock Exchange reached EUR 86.28 billion in December 2015. This was a gain of 7.86% over the year-end figure of 2014.

Valneva Completes EUR 45 Million Capital Increase

The listed biotechnology company Valneva SE announces the completion of its capital increase with shareholders preferential subscription rights launched on January 12th, 2015. Valneva estimates net proceeds of EUR 42 millions from 18.2 million offered new shares. The new ordinary shares will be traded on Euronext and on the Prime Market segment of the Vienna Stock Exchange. The financing will mainly be used for the acquisition of Crucell Sweden AB and all assets, licenses and privileges related to Dukoral.

Josef Taus to Delist MTH from the Vienna Stock Exchange

Josef Taus is delisting his investment company Management Trust Holding (MTH). The main reason for the delisting of this long-term stock market participant (since 1990) is the very low percentage of widespread shareholdings: only 1.25 percent of the shares is held in free float. The company will present a respective offer to the few minority shareholders. Another reason is the restructure of Taus’ empire, which will allow the industrialist to reduce his dependence on minority shareholders.

Manfred Sibrawa of BAWAG PSK INVEST GmbH comments on the expectation of the performance of the Vienna Stock Exchange until year end. Vienna Stock Exchange Raised EUR 3.1 Billion in Capital in 1HY 2014

In the first half of 2014, Austrian companies raised more than EUR 3.1 billion in fresh capital through the Vienna Stock Exchange. This volume is larger than the aggregate volume of the past two years (transaction volume 2012 and 2013: EUR 2.1 billion) and the highest level achieved since 2007. The volume consists of the capital increases of Raiffeisen Bank International (EUR 2.78 billion), Porr (EUR 120 million), and the successful initial public offering of FACC (around EUR 213 million).
