Telekom Austria announces that its Supervisory Board has allocated the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities to Alejandro Plater (47) as proposed by the two majority shareholders América Móvil and Österreichische Bundes- und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (ÖBIB). This appointment will be effective as of 1 August 2015.

Bilderberg 2015: The "World Government" Meets in Austria

A select group of global elite is gathering today at the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol in Telfs-Buchen, Austria. The 63rd Bilderberg conference is a super secret annual conference where they can discuss politics, economics and foreign policy freely. A total of around 140 participants from 22 countries have confirmed their attendance at the Bilderberg conference 2015. As ever, a diverse group of political leaders and experts from industry and finance have been invited. This year the list includes nine Austrians. Key talking points on the agenda include the Ukrainian crisis, Greece, Middle East and Terrorism (see detailed list below). Security is tight - participants as well as protesters and journalists will have to deal with the Austrian anti terror squad "Cobra". After 1979 it's the second time that the conference takes place in Austria.

Andreas Gschwenter Becomes New COO/CIO of Raiffeisen Bank International

The Supervisory Board of Raiffeisen Bank International decided that Andreas Gschwenter will become Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of RBI from 1 July 2015. Gschwenter was born in 1969, has a degree in business administration and has been Head of Operations (COO/CIO) in charge of IT, operations and cost management at Raiffeisen Bank Aval in Ukraine since 2010. His appointment is subject to approval by the Austrian Financial Market Authority.

Update: OMV Appoints Outsider Rainer Seele as New CEO

The head of German oil and gas producer Wintershall is going to transfer to Austria’s listed oil and gas concern OMV as of 1 July 2015, taking the place of Gerhard Roiss as CEO. The incumbent CEO is going to leave the company on 30 June. Seele’s appointment as new helmsman of the Austrian firm was hailed as a "corner stone for the company”, by supervisory board head Rudolf Kemler during the press conference. Seele has been appointed for three years and his tenure may get extended by another two years. During his time in Wintershall he managed to raise production by over a half to 385,000 boe/d. Seele is a German citizen. He did not want to disclose his plans for OMV.

OMV Appoints Outsider Rainer Seele as New CEO

The Supervisory Board of OMV appointed Rainer Seele (54) as the new Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of OMV. Rainer Seele has accepted the appointment. He will assume the position effective July 1, 2015 for a three-year period, with an extension option for OMV for further two years. The current Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO Gerhard Roiss will resign from his position on June 30, 2015 as previously announced.

The United Nations General Assembly adopted a 10 year action-plan aimed at accelerating sustainable development in the world’s 32 landlocked developing countries (LLDCs). OMV's Gerhard Roiss Resigns from his Position as Chairman and CEO

Tonight, the Supervisory Board of OMV AG and Gerhard Roiss have agreed that Mr. Roiss resigns from his position as Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO as of June 30, 2015.
