Austrian Population Rises Above 8.5 Million

Austria's population increases to 8.58 million at the beginning of 2015, according to preliminary results of Statistics Austria. In absolute terms, the population grew by almost 72 000 last year. Hence, population growth was significantly higher than in the previous year (2013: +56 000).
