The 75th edition of the European Forum Alpbach was opened completely different on Sunday evening due to Covid-19 - under security conditions and with a one and a half hour opening event in the congress center.
Austria's Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen used his speech to promote a common, greener European future.
"The pandemic has drastically shown us how international developments and crises can affect us from one day to the next," explained Van der Bellen, who, like all other invited guests, had to complete the "Covid-19 security check" in the entrance area. …
