The regional energy company Bewag already announced last week that it intends to concentrate more on the domestic energy market. Bewag wants to expand its energy infrastructure, mainly in wind power. In the coming years, € 300m are to be invested.

For this reason, foreign investments are for sale. The new Bewag management emphasized that divesting itself of the holdings stands under no time pressure. The sale of the Croatian subsidiary B.net Hrvatska is underway currently. Telekom Austria is already showing interest in the telecommunications company and is expected to be the best bidder in the sales process. The price is rumored to be € 100m.

B.net Hrvatska was bought in 2007 for € 55m. The company generated sales for 27.7m in 2010, an increase of € 10.1m. EBIT amounted to € 2m. Customers served by B.net are 108,000 in cable television, 48,000 in online services and 46,000 in telephone services.
