Based on the number of new companies settling in Austria, Germany is the largest investor. More than 40% of the new arrivals come from the northern neighbor.

2010 brought 198 new companies from abroad to Austria, representing an increase of 25% on the previous year. Of these companies are, according to the Austrian Business Agency (ABA), 83 come from Germany, which is a fraction over 42% of all newly established foreign companies.
45 new companies were registered from the CEE/SEE region of, of which 13 are from Russia, 11 from Hungary…
