Participation in companies and real estate are attractive, but Austrian firms are reluctant to make acquisitions in Eastern Europe.

At the height of the economic crisis, the confidence in Eastern Europe disappeared and it has not returned yet: while goods exports are growing strongly again this year, Austrian companies are still reluctant to make direct investments (FDI).
