Those who go into early retirement in Austria are rewarded. The government should create more incentives to retire later on in life.

The President of the Wirtschaftskammer (Economic Chamber), Christoph Leitl sees urgent need for action concerning pensions. The realignment of the pension system during the budget preparation did not go far enough. Related government work is far from satisfactory. Pension costs alone would rise from 2010 to 2014 from 8 to 12 billion euro.
