Unemployment: Sharp Decline in October

Compared with the previous year, unemployment was reduced by 8%. The decline is attributed primarily to an increase in the demand for temporary workers.

The number of people looking for jobs has decreased significantly as compared with the previous year. The AMS(Public Employment Service Austria) reported a decline of 7.9%. Therefore, there are 19,400 fewer unemployed people, reaching 226,100 unemployed individuals. The decline in long-term unemployment was particularly strong: it decreased by 20.3% to 5,700 persons.
