Rail Cargo Hungaria (RCH) is still fighting for restructuring success. Meanwhile, a new competitor has appeared in the freight business.

RCH (previously MavCargo), the money losing Hungarian subsidiary of ÖBB in the freight transport sector, has not recovered from the economic crisis yet. In addition to this, the Raab railway, which is 65% owned by the Republic of Hungary, may turn into a serious competitor for the freight business. This could soon become real, because the Raab (Gysev) railway is planning to merge…
