Car Registrations Still on the Rise

First three quarters 2011: new car registrations increased by 8.8%; September 2011 +9.4% in Austria. Motor vehicle registration was up by 7.7%.

According to Statistics Austria, a total of 30 755 new passenger cars was registered in September 2011, by 9.4% more than in September 2010. Petrol-driven vehicles decreased by 2.4% (incl. flex-fuel (E85) vehicles; share: 44.7%) whereas passenger cars with diesel drive showed an increase of more than one-fifth (+21.3%; share: 54.6%).
