Serbia is currently stepping up its diplomatic efforts to join the Schengen area. During an official visit to Vienna, Serbia's Minister for European Affairs, Nemanja Starović, emphasized that his country's accession to Schengen is not only a strategic goal, but is also in Europe's security policy interests. Austria once again signaled its support for Serbia's European integration ambitions - both concerning the EU and the Schengen area.
