Working Time: 32% Work Longer than Stipulated

A study of the Austrian working atmosphere index shows that a substantial part of Austrian workers works longer than 40 hours per week.

Austrian employees often work longer than agreed by contract. About 14% of the employees work between 40 and 45 hours per week. 10% work longer than 45 hours. All in all, about a third reaches longer working times than stipulated. In 2006, this figure stood at 45% and declined during the financial crisis.
