Following the end of the COVID-19-related lockdown in mid-December 2021, the Austrian tourism industry recovered surprisingly quickly and strongly, even though there was a demand-side gap of one-third in overnight stays compared with the pre-crisis period of 2018/19 from November 2021 to February 2022.
