Turkey’s prospects of the continuing of the EU Accession negotiations have brightened. During a meeting in Luxembourg several foreign ministers took a much more moderate tone.

The EU Accession talks have frozen after the EU rejected the violent repression of protests in Turkish cities. Now, in the view of the ongoing protests, negotiations about a new chapter should commence. German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle urged that with such a decision strategic long-term interests of the European Union had to be taken into consideration.
