After his return from Northern Africa, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has demanded an immediate stop of protests in his country. Many Russian investors are supposed to have drawn their assets from Turkey.

In front of around 10,000 supporters of his islamic-conservative party AKP, Erdogan announced at the Atatürk airport in Istanbul yesterday that the demonstrations had lost their democratic right and turned to vandalism. Erdogan advised his followers to return to their homes peacefully since some of his supporters had demanded more violent actions against protesters.
