The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warns of postponing the EU accession of his country.

After a meeting with Germany´s Chancellor Angela Merkel, Erdogan stressed that Turkey must become an EU member country in the next years. An accession in 2023 is not early enough, he said. “We will not wait so long. But if the EU will keep us waiting, the EU will lose. At least, the EU will lose Turkey.”
