On Wednesday the European Commission has approved state aid for five Slovenian banks.

The approval for the restructuring of the country’s three biggest banks was given less than a week after the Slovenian government’s announcement of spending € 3.5bn for state-controlled NLB, NKBM and Abanka Vipa and two smaller financial institutes.
