The Slovenian Constitutional Court has rejected the controversial property tax suggested by the government. This will jeopardize this year’s budget.

The new property tax, which became effective at the beginning of the year, had been considered an important new source of income for the Slovenian government. Amendments made later on significantly cut the planned revenues of € 200m but at least the government had raised hope for additional income from a new levy which would have taxed the real estate assets of the Slovenian…
