Since 2008, the Austrian state has injected more than € 8bn into domestic banks. Guarantees total € 12bn.

In total, the participation capital granted to Austrian banks comes at € 8.1bn. The biggest debtors are Hypo Group (€ 1.85bn), Raiffeisen Zentralbank (€ 1.75bn), VBAG (€ 1.25bn), KA Finanz (€ 1.2bn) and Erste Group (1.2bn.). Further debtors are Bawag (550m) and Kommunalkredit (€ 250m). Kommunalkredit and its bad bank KA Finanz have been nationalized in 2008, Hypo Group…
