Walter Rothensteiner, CEO of Austrian RZB (Raiffeisen Zentralbank) says that bank taxes have a detrimental impact on the economic development.

In an interview with the Austrian daily newspaper “Wiener Zeitung”, Rothensteiner explains the consequences of bank taxes. According tom him, RZB will pay bank taxes of more than € 200m this year. As a consequence, lending goes down by € 1.8bn. “I wish that we reconsider and then abolish the bank taxes.”
