Almost one-fifth of domestic SMEs will be looking for new owners in the next decade. 57,000 businesses and 500,000 jobs will be affected.

A recent projection of KMU Forschung Austria (Austrian Institute for SMEs) shows that in the decade from 2011 to 2020, about  57,300 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with 500,000 depending self-employed and employed persons, are faced with the challenge of business succession.
