ÖBB: Cargo Division as Loss-Maker
The continuing crisis of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) is due in large extent to the losses in freight traffic of Rail Cargo Austria (RCA).

The CEO of ÖBB, Christian Kern insists on his restructuring strategy for the ÖBB. By 2013 the group will have come out of the loss zone. For the freight subsidiary RCA, this will however still take a year longer.
RCA is expected to write this year losses for over € 350m. About half of them come from the write-offs of the Hungarian freight subsidiary RCH (Rail Cargo Hungary).…
