In Austria, the number of staff ill decreased slightly in 2010. On average, on 12.9 days staff was away sick. Sickness is becoming a main cause for retirements.

The Austrian Economic Chamber, the Chamber of Labor and the Social Insurance published a study regarding the correlation of sickness and retirement. After 13.2 days in 2009, the number of staff ill went down to 12.9 days in 2010.
