Major order for Siemens Austria

The Austrian subsidiary of the German electronics group receives a new order from Poland for the construction of underground train sets.

Siemens Austria expects the latest contracts to compensate the loss of the order of the Federal Railways (ÖBB) for 16 Railjet sets which had to be cancelled due to financial capacity reasons. Negotiations continue with other potential customers, such as the Czech National Railways.

Despite the cancellation, the over 1,100 jobs at Siemens Austria are however secure. The company…
