The company listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in the prime market segment wins its first contract in Russia. The Russian subsidiary Kapsch TrafficCom Russia OOO has been awarded an order from the city of Kasan to equip traffic crossings with fully automatic applications for red light enforcement, lane control and speed control. This system shall be integrated into the local police system and will lead to a fully electronic enforcement of traffic offenders.

It was agreed that the total order volume will not be disclosed but can be expected in the double digit million Rouble range. An order for the technical operation of the system is expected to follow soon.

"Even if it is a relatively small contract in terms of volume, this success may have a significant consequence for the future development of Kapsch TrafficCom Russia on a very challenging market and should put us in a strong position to take advantage of massive investment into traffic safety and surveillance that are expected to become available in Russia in the upcoming years", says Michael Weber, Managing Director of Kapsch TrafficCom Russia OOO.
