Despite higher taxes and lower benefits, the purchasing power of the Austrian people will grow in 2011 by an estimated 2.6%.

The increase of purchasing power calculated by RegioData of 2.6% for next year represents a value of 450 euro per capita. After deducting the inflation, i.e. in real terms, the purchasing power increase will amount to 0.6%. Per Austrian, the average purchasing power amounts to € 18,200 a year. Austria is in 5th place in Europe in this respect.
