Debt levels which are not attributed to the Austrian Federal Budget rise exorbitantly. Above all, the ÖBB and Asfinag are responsible.

Officially, getting into new debt is slowed down again in Austria as of 2011. Not taken into account, however, are the de facto state debts that are outside the budget.
