Unlike the outgoing President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus, Milos Zeman and Karel Schwarzenberg are in favor of the euro.

In a TV debate, the presidential candidates said that they would support the euro introduction in the Czech Republic. However, the country should not join the Eurozone before 2017. According to the candidates, the Czech Republic would not fulfill the Maastricht Criteria before that date.
