Croatia: Non-Performing Loans on the Rise

Almost one out of seven loans is classified as “non-performing.” A further aggravation is rather likely.

Since 2009, the volume of NPL has multiplied. Three years ago, 5.14% of the loans in the Croatian banking sector were non-performing. In mid-2012, already 13.31% of the loans are at risk. At the end of June, the volume of loans totaled € 39.1bn.
Concerning company loans, the share of non-performing loans came at 23%. In the private household segment, the NPL quota was 9%.…
