South Stream Pipeline May Run Across Croatia

Instead of Hungary, the pipeline project South Stream may pass through Croatia. Gazprom currently negotiates with the Croatian operator Plinacro.

According to the Croatian newspaper “Jutarnji list”, the Southstream pipeline may run across Croatia instead of Hungary. The prospects for Croatia would be 50:50. Costs are expected to come at € 600m. The South Stream pipeline should ship Russian natural gas to Italy. In total, costs should reach about € 25bn.
