Unemployment trend: Flash estimates for the fourth quarter of 2010 show an unemployment rate of 4.1%.

In the fourth quarter of 2010, the total number of persons unemployed according to international definitions was 179 000, a decrease by 21 300 persons (-10.6%) compared to the fourth quarter of 2009. According to Statistics Austria, the unemployment rate is estimated to be 4.1% and therefore below last year’s corresponding figure (4.7%).
