The labor market opening of Austria for the more recent EU member states comes too late, according to the manufacturing industry.

As countries such as Germany and Austria, negotiated seven-year transitional provisions from 2004 to 2011 as part of the job market opening of the EU, other countries reaped their benefits. Such is the conclusion of the Austrian Industrialists (IV).
