An hour of work costs an Austrian employer an average € 28.00 - six euro more than the EU average.

Austria counts to the countries with the highest labor costs in the EU. There are higher costs per hour of work in Denmark (€ 37.60), Sweden (€ 35.90), France (33.10), the Netherlands (€ 30.40) and Germany (€ 29.20). The lowest value is achieved in Bulgaria (€ 3.10).
