Voestalpine Shuts Down Steelworks in Duisburg

The Austrian steel producer plans to close the mill in 2013. At the moment, voestalpine has talks with trade unions and the workforce.

The Vienna-listed steel group will not produce any conventional rails anymore. Rather, voestalpine wants to specialize in niche products in the rail sector. TSTG Schienentechnik GmbH & Co KG, which is wholly-owned by voestalpine is affected by this decision.
