There is no fixed coalition commitment as yet. However, all signs point to a red-green coalition in the federal capital.

The SPÖ has been looking for a partner after the loss of absolute majority. So far, a coalition with the ÖVP has always been assumed. Now, Vienna mayor Häupl has announced that his party, after internal deliberations, prefers the red-green option. The decision is said to have been taken unanimously.
