Controversial construction project led to protests and brutal police force.

A court in Turkey has stopped the plans for the reconstruction of Taksim Square in Istanbul, according to a lawyer. Already at the beginning of June an administrative court has ruled that the project – among others– was violating the rules of conservation, a lawyer, who filed a lawsuit against the government’s plans, explaine on Wednesday.
