Strong Increase in Wholesale Prices

Wholesale price index in June 2011: +8.9% against June 2010, +0.5% against May 2011. Main drivers were cereals, fertilizers and gasoline.

As reported by Statistics Austria, the index of wholesale prices, WPI 2010, amounted to 109.1 (preliminary value) in June 2011 and has increased by 0.5% against May 2011. Compared to June 2010 the wholesale prices rose by 8.9%, after 8.1% in May 2011.

Against May, the groups “waste and recycling materials” (+3.1%), chemical products (+2.4%), “leather and fur” (+2.3%)…
