Slovenia Can Afford Bank Sector Cleanup Itself

Slovenia intends to use its own funds and avoid having to ask the Eurozone or IMF for aid to restore the stability of its banking sector, said the country's finance minister Uros Cufer.

Speaking at the European Parliament, Cufer said that his government plans "to clean up the mess we did ourselves with our own funds."
"Slovenia can afford to do the cleaning ourselves," he said, adding that it was "reasonable" not to ask fellow Eurozone governments to help the country pay for its own mistakes.
