Slovakia: Rising Unemployment Despite 2.8% GDP Growth

In the second quarter of 2012, Slovakia´s GDP moved up by 2.8%. The unemployment rate reached 13.6%.

Last quarter, Slovakia´s economic growth slowed down to 2.8% against the second quarter of 2011. Compared with the first quarter, GDP increased by 0.7%. In the first quarter, annual GDP growth came at 3.0%. In the second quarter, GDP reached € 17.85bn.
