Slovakia: Economy Slows Down

In the third quarter of 2012, Slovakia´s GDP grew by 0.6%. Compared to the previous quarter, the growth rate remained unchanged.

The crisis in the Eurozone begins to affect Slovakia. According to first flash estimates, the Slovak economy cools down slightly. Against the second quarter of 2012, the annual economic growth was down from 2.6% to 2.2%. Nevertheless, Slovakia still performs significantly better than the Eurozone. In the third quarter, the Eurozone contracted by 0.25 qoq.
