In the year 2010 the food retail group recorded a moderate increase in sales of 1.7%. However, sales (€ 681.7m) are under price pressures "with an unprecedented intensity".

The trade group employs virtually the same 2,845 employees and supplies retailers as well as the food chain "Nah & Frisch". In addition to the core division of the company, C & C Pfeiffer, also operates the wholesaler Unimarkt, with 76 branches and 36 franchisees.

For 2011, the group plans further investments for € 25m, of which € 15m will be invested in Villach, Carinthia. Furthermore, the chain Unimarkt will continue growing. The cost of logistics will be reduced even further by a densification of the core area. A forecast for the coming years, is hardly possible however, in view of the volatile commodity markets. Due to the declining expenditure share of Austrian consumers for food (2010: 12% of consumption expenditure), growth potential is rather limited.
