According to calculations by E-Control, Germany’s decision to close down its nuclear power plants will affect the Austrian economy.

Germany’s early nuclear power phase-out will result in costs of € 6bn per year. Austria will also feel the consequences, says Walter Boltz, director of the regulatory authority E-Control. The extra cost for the Austrian economy will amount to approximately € 600m per year.
