Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis explained that a raise of minimum wages to LVL 303 (€ 428) is not realizable at the moment.

In response to ombudsman Juris Jansons’ request to increase minimum wages up to 303 lats (€ 425), Prime Minister Dombrovskis described the amount to be not realistic at this point. On February 26, the Welfare Ministry replied to Jansons’ request, explaining the current economic situation in Latvia and assuring to assessing the matter to raise minimum wages in 2014.
