Hungary: Bank Tax Intake Lower than Expected

The tax intake from the bank tax will be substantially lower than planned. The Hungarian government expected a tax intake of HUF 187bn (€ 655m). However, proceeds only reached about HUF 75bn (€ 266m), the newspaper “Nepszabadsag” reports. According to the newspaper, this is due to the allowance of deducting the bank tax from losses of foreign currency loans.
