EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs Olli Rehn can see the first signs of an economic turn-around in the European Union.

Rehn expects a return to economic recovery and growth, in case there are no “political accidents”, he announced during the Forum Alpbach today. The EU Commission has allowed austerity measures to slow down slightly in countries like France, Spain, Belgium and The Netherlands. “The extra time has to be used for structural reforms,” the Commissioner demands.
