According to Paul Krugman, the development of Croatia´s economy depends on the performance of the export-oriented industry.

Increasing exports would be the only way to achieve growth again, he says. Croatia´s domestic market would be too small. However, Krugman admits that this will be no easy task. Apart from Germany and Austria, all important trading partners face a recession. Other important export markets are Italy, Slovenia and Bosnia.
