The IMF calls Slovenia to re-capitalize the banking sector immediately. However, Slovenia´s financial situation is already more than tense.

According to the head of the IMF delegation in Slovenia, the country has to solve the issue as soon as possible. The non-performing loan portfolio held by the Slovenian banking sector is expected to range between € 7.0bn and € 10bn. This is about a quarter of the country´s GDP.
