Austrian Inflation Rate Decreased Slightly

Further decrease of consumer price inflation to 2.1% (HICP 2.3%) in May 2012.

The annual inflation rate of the consumer price index (CPI 2010) measured by Statistics Austria was 2.1% in May (April 2.3%, March 2.4%). This was the lowest rate since November 2010 (1.9%). In contrast to the high price level one year before, food products increased by 2.1% and mineral oil product prices rose by 5% (but -3% compared to last month).
