75th Anniversary of the Opening of the Liberation Monument at Schwarzenbergplatz: Austrian and CIS Officials Hold Ceremony

75 years after the unveiling of the Liberation Monument, Austrian President of the National Council Wolfgang Sobotka and Ambassadors of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries commemorated once again the Soviet soldiers killed during World War II.

For 75 years, the Liberation Monument (also known as Soviet War Memorial) on Schwarzenbergplatz has been shaping the architectural image of one of the most beautiful squares in the centre of the Austrian capital.
